So historically, the New England Patriots have not played well at all in Miami – especially late in the season. You’d think a California boy would relish in the heat and love this time of year down in South Beach, but that’s not the case with Tom Brady.
Brady is just 7-9 in Miami lifetime and 1-5 against them in the last month of the year – when he is 25-2 against everyone else. So why do we think that is? During an interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One Radio this week, Brady offered his theory, and it had to do with Miami’s balmy weather.
“It’s been a challenging environment,” Brady said, via WEEI.com. “I think the climate plays some role and they always seem to play well when they play us down there.”
So we are really going to go with the warm weather being an issue? I guess it would make sense considering the Pats laid an egg to what turns out to be a very very bad Jaguars team earlier this year. I see another mediocre performance by the Pats and Brady specially as the pass rush will get to him and disrupt him a bit. Look for the Pats to win a close one here today in South Beach but for all you gamblers out there, the +9.5 looks good to me!
